Presentation Overview:

As demand for energy-efficiency grows, exterior insulation is quickly becoming the new standard. However, it’s crucial to ensure we're not sacrificing sustainability for energy efficiency. Who cares if the assembly is energy efficient if it deteriorates…

By applying building science principles, we can develop straightforward solutions to issues like thermal bridging, dew points, vapour diffusion, rain leaks, and air movement.

This presentation aims to provide a clear framework for designing building envelopes that are both energy-efficient and sustainable. As well, we will provide physical demonstrations and analogies to help solidify confusing concepts like vapor diffusion, so the industry can make informed decisions about the building envelope with confidence in any climate zone.
