Energy Dollars and Cents of Building Envelopes

The mechanical systems installed in most building are a direct reaction to the needs of two functions:

* compensating for the building envelope
* meeting the needs of the occupants

Where is the 'bang for the buck' in the building envelope? How does the building envelope impact the building mechanical systems and costs? Whare are viable building envelope retrofits that will save significant engery dollars?

These and other questions will be answered Thursday!

Speaker biography

Mr. Raeburn is a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over 30 years of experience across Western Canada on a wide variety of projects in both design and project management roles. Mr. Raeburn's focus on customer service, inter-discipline co-ordination and project detail has resulted in very successful mechanical projects. As the manager of the Winnipeg Mechanical Department at MCQ/AGE, Mr. Raeburn has a great deal of design, construction and review experience. He is excellent at troubleshooting skills, and the necessary experience to find creative and appropriate solutions to almost any HVAC or plumbing problem. Mr. Raeburn routinely acts as a technical resource for our fireld staff in other cities and communities and has tremendous experience assisting in the field with technical solutions to very complex problems.
