Presentation Overview:
It’s now clear that the roofing industry is entering a new era in which flameless waterproofing solutions will become the norm. Flameless solutions are becoming an excellent choice due to the benefits and level of safety they offer. This presentation will address the positive attributes as well as the perceived shortfalls of flame-free roofing systems, their installation, and best practices when it comes to design. Additionally, we will review how to ensure that flameless solutions are meeting the requirements under the National Building Code as it relates to Wind Uplift (CSA A123.21) and membrane standards (CSA A123.23).

Mike Washnuk, Technical Representative, SOPREMA
Mike Washnuk is a Certified Technical Representative (CTR) for SOPREMA. Mike has been a manufacturer’s representative in the Winnipeg market for over 14 years and has worked with product suppliers relevant to building enclosures. Mike has been representing SOPREMA for the past eight years and during that time has gained insight into important design and installation considerations for flameless roofing solutions.
