Following the MBEC AGM, Stantec will be presenting the Alloway Hall Renewal & Expansion project. There will be a 30 minute presentation, followed by a 30 minute tour of the project. A hard hat and steel-toe boots will be required in order to partake in the tour. There is underground parking available near the museum, as well as in the parking lot north of the museum on Main Street.
The Manitoba Museum at the Manitoba Centennial Centre campus holds a special place in the hearts of Manitobans. Visited by nearly every student and family in the province, the Museum evokes an overwhelming sense of marvel for those of us who call Manitoba home. From the first scene of the Bison Hunt diorama to the Nonsuch ship, the mere mention of the museum makes us recall the various exhibitions with awe. Today, The Museum’s Alloway Hall Expansion and Renewal Project, the museum’s traveling exhibition and event space, will allow the museum to host larger world class exhibits and events, further expanding our collective sense of wonder. You are welcome to join the Manitoba Building Envelope Council as we embark on a guided tour with design, building envelop, construction and facilities professionals. See how this copper-clad expansion and renewal project ties into the nearly 50-year old heritage of the Manitoba Centennial Centre, seeking to engage the public, while maximizing flexibility for the exhibition curators.
Spaces in the tour are limited, so registration will be capped at 75 people.
